Detective in the Golden Ages

Amsterdam - Shall Maria with the red curls and the mayors son Jacob de Graeff be able to save Boris Pvertsz, who has been sentenced to death? That's the big question in the new audio tour, which was written by children's books author Simon van der Geest for The Royal Dutch Palace, for children from the ages of 9 till 12.

The exciting story happens in the 17th century when the palace was still used as the Town Hall of Amsterdam. The lead character is the 13 year old Jacob. As the son of Cornelis de Greaff, one of the 4 mayors of Amsterdam, he is a apart of the rich and elite of his time. A huge difference to the poor circumstances Marie has to grow up in. When her cousin Boris is wrongly accused of stealing, she rebels against the City Guards and asks Jacob for help.

Simon van der Geest wrote this story especially for the tour. in 2011 he won an award, the Golden Pen, for his book "Dissus" and is also well known for his other children's books "yellow grass" and "Spinder". Is was trusted to Van der Geest to make a tour a more attractive experince
